After completing his studies at ESCP-EAP, Bill Barluet began directing self-produced short films while working as a stage manager on commercials for acclaimed directors such as Patrice Leconte and Etienne Chatiliez. He also worked as an assistant director and location manager on various film projects. In 2006, Bill directed his first 35mm short film, "Drifting," followed by "Faits divers" in 2007, which he also wrote the script for. He has since directed commercials for high-profile clients such as Skoda, Bulgari, and Prosciutto di Parma. In 2008, his ad for the sports brand Freddy won the Young Director Award at the Cannes Advertising Festival.
